The Only Way To Get Around Town

With the moving vans, police escorts, closed streets and concrete baracaides, there is only one way to get around town for the next few days, Metro. I wonder if Michelle and the first daughters will get to experience the joys of Metro?

Working Late Today

DG ended up working late tonight and apparently so was the new neighbor.

Waiting for the Motorcade to pass

This is the view from DG's office window, waiting for the neighbors motorcade to pass. After a couple of days, you hardly even bother to stand up and watch them go by, ho-hum- it is just the soon to be leader of the free world going by.

Staying in a hotel

I can relate, we had to spend a night in a hotel before moving into the new place in DC. But there are a few differences. It was raining like crazy the night we stayed in the hotel and no one put up a tent and enclosed walkway into the hotel for us (the enclosed walkway goes right past the basement bar, they serve a great lemon drop martini and smoked salmon to die for; trust me on that one.) Also I dare say the Hay Adams hotel is a bit plusher then the Clarion in Arlington.

Last Minute Construction

The new neighbors are finishing up some last minute constructing, complete with nice thick windows.

New Neighbors

We are getting new neighbors near my office. They are causing much excitement in the neighborhood. Some are very happy that the new family is moving in, some are happy that the old family is moving out (so sad, their cat died this week.) This was just a simple walk to the subway on my way home this afternoon. One of the black SUVs is transporting the next President of the United States. I will keep the camera handy for the next couple of weeks.
